Human Resources Road Map

Adopted in October 2024, the Human Resources Road Map reflects the university’s proactive and inclusive human resources policy, which supports professional development and promotes work–life balance.

This site is currently being translated into English. Thank you for your patience.

The Human Resources Road Map (schéma directeur des ressources humaines – SDRH) applies to all staff at the university, teaching and non-teaching, whether permanent or contractual. It is the result of extensive consultation and collective reflection involving employee representatives, service and department managers, the Human Resources Office and elected members of the university's governing bodies.

The University of Strasbourg has made this Road Map a strategic priority in its Objectives, Resources and Performance Contract (Contrat d'objectifs, de moyens et de performance – COMP), the formal framework that sets the university’s goals, allocates resources and defines performance indicators.

Key objectives of the University of Strasbourg's human resources (HR) policy

  • Supporting the university’s HR strategy: the Human Resources Road Map provides a coherent, long-term vision for the university’s HR policy. It defines a clear and shared framework to anticipate staffing needs, aligned with the university’s strategy and institutional priorities.
  • Highlighting the university as an employer: the Human Resources Road Map enables the university to communicate its human resources strategy, highlighting current and future initiatives to meet the challenges facing French universities today.

The four pillars of the University of Strasbourg's HR policy

  • Employment and recruitment policy: the university reaffirms its ambitious employment policy and its identity as an employer.
  • Staff, career and skills management policy: the university aims to better support staff throughout their careers and to better recognise individual skills and expertise. It is committed to developing actions focused on career support, skills development and skills management.
  • Workplace environment and working conditions: the university is implementing an action plan to improve general workplace satisfaction, working conditions, and job roles and responsibilities, so that every staff member feels fully involved and finds meaning in their work.
  • Digital tools and digitalisation of the HR process: the university is implementing a comprehensive approach to digitising its HR processes. It is adopting an agile and responsible approach that respects the environment and supports work–life balance. The goal is to strengthen collaboration and improve teamwork.

The steering and development of the University of Strasbourg's Human Resources Road Map

The Human Resources Road Map is regularly updated with new actions, always designed in the interest of all staff and respecting equity between different employment statuses.

The university has set up a Steering and Advisory Committee, which includes representatives from the Senior Leadership Team and university management, elected members of university governing bodies and staff representatives. The committee can consult subject-matter experts when needed. Its role is to ensure that the Human Resources Road Map's positive momentum continues.
